Although the NHS interest in actuaries has been widely circulated and discussed in several publications, we see the same questions come up time and time again during conversations with NHS leaders on what actuaries do. The working party has developed a brochure for actuaries to present to health system leaders that introduces the IFoA, actuaries, their skills (with focus on the ones most relevant to the health and care system), and a roadmap to engaging with actuaries. In this session the working party intends to give update on developments since our last publication in 2021. The working party will cover three topics: - Update on the conversations between the PHM WP and different NHS leaders - Raising the profile of actuaries within the NHS - How to engage with actuaries? It should be of interest to actuaries at all levels with an interest in the NHS, and healthcare systems.
